These DC operating coils are designed in accordance with NEMA standards to withstand 110 percent of rated voltage continuously and to operate the contactor successfully at 80 percent of rated voltage.
Replacement parts kits are available for magnet controllers and AC and DC Type M and MX contactors. Copper contact tips are used in standard applications. Silver-faced contact tips are recommended for applications where the contactors remain closed for long periods of time. Silver-faced contact tips are supplied as standard on crane main disconnect switches and are optional on DC starters and other devices. Each tip kit contains movable and stationary contacts, necessary hardware and servicing instructions.
The Electrical Interlocks modification kit can be added to the Class 7004 and Class 8503 Type M contactors used in DC starters and AC and DC crane and mill control panels.
The Al1 arc suppressor is designed to reduce arcing of pilot devices in DC inductive control circuits of 250VDC or less
The Mechanical interlock modification kit can be added to the Class 7004 and Class 8503 Type M contactors.
The Contact modification kit can be added to the Class 7001 Type K Relays
The Type M contactors are furnished without power lugs. The Power Lug Kit is available consisting of lugs and hardware for mounting on NEMA Size 3 and larger contactors. No power lug kits are available for the NEMA Size 1 and 2 contactors. These contactors are designed to use lugs supplied by the user.
The Tie bar are used for applications requiring double pole normally open Type M contactors can be met by supplying single normally open contactors with tie bars. For double pole contactors, it is recommended that the operating coils be connected in series. Each coil should be rated for one half of the line voltage.
